Program and Philosophy

Camp K offers an exciting summer literacy program for children

entering Pre-Kindergarten through second grade. Our two week

summer literacy program immerses children in an enriching and

fun literacy environment. Camp K is held at St. Matthew's Church

in Pennington, NJ, and is run by highly trained and experienced

literacy teachers. No matter the level of your child’s reading, our

promise is to get to know your child and build a literacy program

that allows him/her to feel success while continuing forward on

the literacy learning journey.

Children are provided with rich literacy experiences that include, drama, art, reading, and writing. We encourage you to sign up for all three consecutive weeks, yet will permit registration for individual weeks.

  • Camp K builds on the strengths of students via small group, individualized instruction that is developed by a reading specialist and designed to fit each child’s needs.
  • For beginning readers, sessions address literacy skills that are foundational to learning to read and write and are centered around a fun weekly theme.
  • For children who are already reading, opportunities for enrichment activities are geared towards building reading fluency, reading comprehension, and writing skill.

Camp K is a unique experience for your child. A safe environment, in beautiful classrooms located in the heart of Pennington, New Jersey. A curriculum created by highly trained literacy specialists and taught by those same teachers - this makes us stand out from the crowd.
