Casey Upson, MEd. - Founder, Director 
   Casey Upson has a Masters from Columbia Teachers College in Children's Literacy and Educational Leadership.  She has taught graduate courses at Columbia Teachers College and has spoken at several workshops about literacy around the state of NJ. She is currently the Reading Specialist/Learning Specialist at Princeton Day School and is an adjunct Professor in the Education Department at The College of New Jersey. She was previously the K-5 Literacy Coach and first grade teacher for the Princeton School District. 
    She believes passionately about introducing literacy in fun and engaging ways to our children that will give them a foundation for their lives. Casey lives in Pennington, NJ with her husband Lionel, and her two girls Barrett (7) and Morgan (5). Both whom will be joining in on the summer fun!

Karen Pike, MEd. - Director and Head Teacher 
     Karen Pike has a Masters in Education from Westminster College, PA. Beyond her Masters, Karen has completed over 60 credits of additional graduate work in the teaching of reading and writing.  A certified Wilson Reading System and Orton Gillingham teacher, Karen has extensive experience working on literacy development with groups of children and individuals at every grade level through college freshman.  She is the Social Studies Coordinator and a first grade classroom teacher at Princeton Day School, in Princeton, NJ. Prior to this she was for many years the Coordinator of the Lower School Learning Resource Center and Reading Specialist at Princeton Day School.
     Karen ardently believes that developing the foundational skills of reading and writing are best achieved through active, engaging and enjoyable activities! ​

Dawn Bocian: Head Teacher 
Dawn Bocian received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and holds a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University.  She began her teaching career at University League Nursery School and was a Pre-K teacher at Crossroads Nursery School, both located in Princeton.  Trained in Responsive Classroom and Wilson Language Fundations, Dawn currently is a Learning Resource Teacher in Reading for students in grades K- 4 at Princeton Day School.  Her passion lies in emergent literacy and she draws upon her design background in her teaching, combining creativity and enthusiasm to engage her students in literacy learning.  Dawn lives in Lawrenceville with her husband Dave, and her two children Tommy and Mia.
